About Melanotan II

Melanotan II (MT-II) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Its lactam bridge between aspartic acid and lysine, together with D-phenylalanine and norleucine substitutions, gives it high metabolic stability and potent, non-selective agonism at melanocortin receptors MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R.

Researchers use Melanotan II as a reference ligand in melanocortin-receptor binding and cAMP assays, melanocyte and melanogenesis cell models, and studies of central MC3R/MC4R signalling. Port Peptides Melanotan II will be supplied at 10mg as a lyophilised research peptide.
