About Semax

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) based on the 4–7 fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro tripeptide that improves metabolic stability. Unlike full-length ACTH, it has no hormonal adrenal activity in research models.

Semax is used in pre-clinical research to study expression of BDNF and its TrkB receptor, melanocortin-receptor interactions, dopaminergic and serotonergic signalling, and gene-expression responses in ischaemia models.
