About NAD+

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form) is a dinucleotide coenzyme found in every living cell. It is a central electron carrier in glycolysis, the TCA cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, and the obligate co-substrate for sirtuin deacylases, PARP enzymes and CD38.

Researchers use NAD+ in enzyme kinetics, cellular-energetics and redox-balance assays, and to study NAD+ metabolism, the salvage pathway and age-related NAD+ decline in cell models. Port Peptides NAD+ will be supplied as a lyophilised research reagent in 500mg and 1,000mg vials.

Research applications

  • Sirtuin (SIRT1–SIRT7) activity assays
  • PARP and DNA-repair enzyme studies
  • Mitochondrial redox and NADH/NAD+ ratio models
  • NAD+ salvage-pathway research

Mechanism studied

Acts as a hydride-accepting coenzyme in redox reactions and as a substrate for sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 in laboratory models.

Also known as: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, β-NAD, NAD oxidised form.

NAD+ FAQ

When will NAD+ be available?

NAD+ 500mg and 1,000mg are coming soon. Register your interest and we will contact you when stock and pricing are confirmed.

Is NAD+ a peptide?

No. NAD+ is a dinucleotide coenzyme rather than a peptide. It is listed in our mitochondrial range because of its central role in bioenergetics research.

Is NAD+ for human use?

No. Port Peptides NAD+ is a laboratory reagent for in-vitro research only and is not a supplement or medicine.

How much is UK shipping?

UK shipping is a flat £3.80 and free on orders over £100.
